Refining the five ideas of gathering
The five ideas under which we gather are very clear. Refinement may remove any ambiguities or misinterpretations.
"Communication is a human right" is a defensive statement. An example of a reinforcing statement is "We uphold the human right of communication."
"We don't take sides in conflicts" implies that conflicts have "sides" (quite ambiguous). An example of a statement which conveys a very similar message with greater simplicity is "We are neutral"
"We maintain a stance of non-judgmental neutrality in relation to the right for all individuals and parties to communicate. Further, We make an effort to maintain objectivity - focusing on preserving the ability and means to utilize technology for dissemination of information."
"We provide any person, regardless of side and intent with means for communication." is very powerful. Some may benefit with further information to understand this point better.
"We protect the means for communication for anyone." It is not clear what "anyone" refers to. an individual? a group of individuals? a legal or government organization? There is nothing to which we will not protect the means of communication to?
"We don't destroy means for communication for anyone (e.g. DDoS:ing servers). Ever." "Destroy" implies complete destruction, whereas "damage" implies harm. A DDoS may not destroy a network, but the idea is not to impose censorship by removing the ability to transmit (even if you do not like the message).
